Creatives Tuesday: DIY 3D Geometric Boxes

Ola sweties!! Hows it going today? Having a busy week?
Well, this week Creatives Project we'd like to share with you on  these incredible geometric faceted boxes which can be used as decor (remember our last post? http://www.inspirasisongketaffairs.com/2013/07/diy-geometric-table-runner.html)

The ladies from HEYLOOK has shown us these beautiful perfect geometric faceted goodies (polyhedron) for a display table for your own DIY decor or perhaps as place cards at each guest’s seat! Oh my arent they gorgeous!!
Without further ado, let's begin!

Are you ready?

Instructions

Step 1

Print this template onto thin cardboard stock or thick paper in the colors of your choice. For samples: they chose a set of strong colors, but we think these would also look awesome in pastels or in metallics: gold, silver and/or bronze.

Step 2:

Cut out along the straight lines, then fold along the dotted lines.
Make sure you crease all folds into the same direction: over the dotted lines, so these will be inside the box. (image below)

Step 3

Try to assemble the box without gluing it first, so you can see which sides go where.
The important sides to mark are the lid and the fold-over side (this is the last side to glue).
You could mark those parts with a pencil line or a little piece of masking tape that you can remove in the end.

Step 4

Now you can start to assemble the boxes with paper glue. Fold the last assembly piece (the one before the lid piece) into the box and fix with glue.

Step 5

Cut out small strips of paper and add texts. The sample above is hand-wrritten, but of course you can also print out some in a font of your choice.
Do attach strips to lids with glue as shown in the picture.

And tadaa! you're almost done!!

Step 6

Now your boxes are ready to be filled with goodies. You can fill up lil sweets (like kisses m&ms etc). Note: If you use heavy or breakable favors, add some thin strips of tissue paper to pad the boxes.

Yay! and its done! You can now pass em up as goodies for your lovely guests! :)
