Fab Fridays: Tropical Luxe

Hello sweeties! Yay its t.g.i.f!! Fab fridays have returned with more awesome awesome inspirations for you brides to be's! Today we're all about creativity & ingenuity wedding concepts! Its summer & we hoped you guys are having so much ball out there! (**we are sooo envying those having a fabulous summer by the beach!) What more can be perfect than these lush and tropical tablescape and dessert table we want to share from team of Erica O’Brien, Honey and Poppies, De-Lovely Events, and Jessica Claire.

The inspiration for this concept came from the tropic paintings and old floral still lifes of Paul Gaugin, whom was post-Impressionist artist from the late 1800s. Such a brilliant concept isnt it? The designs are so full of art- and painting-inspired objects and mixed with other media. Sooooo summery!

Another stand out of this cencept was their 'Refined vessels' – a beautiful gold rimmed footed glass dish for the centerpiece, an elegant chandelier, and assorted delicate wine glasses – were perfectly matched against the wildness of the flowers.

These talented hands made these lush and tropical floral arrangements so easy! Megan from Honey and Poppies used garden blooms such as peonies, dahlias, roses, sweet peas, ranunculus, and snowball viburnum to make these lovelies. Moreover, she dared to bring a more exotic feel by layering tons of texture with vines of passion flower, clematis, and pepper berries, and finally added in wispy curled ferns and peacock feathers.

Erica on the other hand was behind the miniature collages place card settings favor. Her idea was simplistic art that she purchased tthe mini canvas and easel sets from Michaels and painted with acrylic paints in various colors. The names were printed on scrapbook paper, cut into the desired shape, and decoupaged on the canvas along with paper and paint chip cut outs.

Their table numbers are another work of art! Another mixed-media inspired piece, they were created from paint chips and scrapbook paper with decorative cutouts. Ironically, the number itself is presented in negative space – such an interesting visual piece for the table.

Do check out the Desserts tables! Literally they are the beauty of art! Must say well done! They made it most simple lovelietst dessert table ever! The desserts consist of the three-tier fondant-covered cake with Caribbean-inspired gumpaste flowers, miniature cakes and icing in a tropical color palette.  Another fantastic idea is why not make your guests involved in your wedding desserts? Here, guests are invited to “paint” on their cakes using the colored icing with paint brushes. (we foresee this gonna be a new trend!)
And do add for simple directions, printed on scrapbook paper and framed, read “You are the artist. (1) Choose your cake. (2) Choose your icing. (3) Create your design.”

For those who'd like to invent your very own unique art-inspired guest book, they're not that complicated to make! They're created using paint chips from the local hardware store. Here's the hows-tos.
  1. Gather index-card size paint chips in your color palette
  2. Purchase an inexpensive clip or key ring such as this one
  3. Punch a hole in the upper left corner of each chip
  4. Print your message on the first paint chip (laser printers work best)
  5. Embellish the first paint chip to your liking – you can see the Martha Stewart Daisy border punch used here
  6. Place each paint chip on the ring

Also frames make your wedding look extra exquisite too! Inexpensive and beautiful way to add art to your decor! Scrapbook paper backed with foamcore board was framed and set at the base of the dessert table for extra added dimension.
