Thursdays Heelsday: Kitten's bow

Yay! Cheers to Happy Thursdays heelsday!! Well, looks like the kitten heels have made a huge comeback in the wedding fashion...Kudos to Valentino’s Couture shoe which featured smaller-than-usual heels, which seems to suggest that the kitten-heel revival will continue for another season for the least. Personally we find these heals are sooo the 50s! It has all the retro vibes around them, so lady for the likes of prim & proper. With their fabulous embellishments, perfect accesorise with full-skirted prom dresses, pillbox hats or perhaps capris!

IB#222: Heart's Desire

Hi sweeties! hows it going there? We love the scents of wednesdays.. the midweek.. the aroma of the cofee that makes my day.. sigh.. maybe we're in holiday mode (*giggles).. anyways back to work... Today's inspire-board we want throw something airy, light & classic-ness in the board. Its no doubt ballerina's tutu has been quite a headline lately in the wedding fashion industry. Many designers have incorporated the tutu-lookalike creating ruffles, more flowy-ness in skirts and flair layered skirts. In silence they're still the evolution of tutus. With this lasting hype... brides everywhere seems to be taken from the trend, and has opt these lovelies as their choice of gowns... . And of course, they create a romantic feel altogether... and a lil touch of pink or soft red makes it more gogoogaga...

Mood: Airy, light & classic, tutu-licious, soft, romantic feel
Season: Spring, summer
Colors: Pink, natural pink, rust, terracotta, blush, rainbow

Flower Power*: Peony thee beautiful

Hi loves! We would like to present you to our new Element of SA! "Flower Power" Episode!
So since many of requested more flowers-related ideas.. we thought we'd like to share with you more floral inspirations-stories which we hope to inspire you in your wedding preparation. So, here's the first.. and if you have any further flowers-related ideas, do drop us an email ya?

This week we want to bring you the Love for Peonies.  I think cos's its nearly early summer, somehow i find myself rather fascinated with these gorgeous blooms. They're more sophisticated than roses, perfect for an elegant type wedding. Where do they come from?

The peony flower is named after Paeon, the Greek god of medicine and healing. Asclepius was Paeon’s teacher and mentor, but became jealous of his star pupil. Legend tells that Zeus had to actually save Paeon from the wrath of Asclepius, and he did so by turning Paeon into a peony flower. Which is why peony is also spelled paeony.

Peony |pēənē| noun: a herbaceous or shrubby type plant of northtemperate regions, which has long been cultivated for its showy flowers. They have compound, deeply lobed leaves, and large, often fragrant flowers, ranging from red to white or yellow, blooming in late spring and early summer.

Who doesn't love peonies? Their outside petals look so loose and free, yet their center exudes a strength and stability like no other flower. Peonies have so variations within their species… the most popular being the Sarah Bernhardt Flower {as shown in pink in the bouquet and tea cup above}.

IB#221: Vavavoom

Vavavoom. That was our initial reaction, the moment we put together this Inspire-board. Red was the ultimate choice due to its flaming sexy sophisticated nature. Moreover, with the latest bridal market fad, talented designers such as Vera Wang, have come forward to put red back as the wedding gown color to watch for in 2013. Like the chinese red, aka scarlet red; red represents all about prosperity, success and greatness. A bride wearing red speaks of her way of telling the world she is on top of her world. Quite bold and daring isnt she?

Mood: Sexy sophisticated nature, prosperity, bold & daring
Season: Summer

IB#220: A moment

Hi loves! We're glad oh boy boy weekend is back. And we so cant wait to go out & play woot woot!
Today's final board for the week - we want to feature more feeling of flashbacks in the present. A lil bit of vintage-ish (since its Vintage weekends postings) and a lil bit of classic for the bride! Ever wondered how weddings today made it through yesterday's board? Modern brides opt to choose natural and muted palettes in their theme! The feeling of sephia & yellowish muted creates a classic do - as if they were all people of yesteryears! Moreover you can always instill fabric bouquets, laces, lil bit of retro decor to keep your event retro checked! So brides, there's no harm turning to yesteryears when they once was a successful beautiful wedding. Certainly history can go down twice when comes to gorgeous retro weddings!

Ola sweets! Yippie yay yay fridays has returned and we're welcoming em' with open arms!
Before our weekend begin, lets get some blues talking in our inspire-board for today! For today's inspiration, we opt for the color royal blue aka Navy blue. Its so mesmerising to have such a dreamy palette for your weddings. Before brides go craze for pinks, blue was amongst brides top favorites for wedding fantasy. Perhaps blues have always been associated with clouds, rain and deep ocean.. Everything that remains calm & deep. Like the deepest love that represents in blue. I was a big fan of the blues during my adoloscence. The glimpse of blue reminds me of the peaceful sea, breezy wind and the exhilarating waterfall. My guess; blue lovers brides loves the sight of ocean too! Blues are all about kindness & poise too. Subtle yet gentle; blue brings the best of an individual's heart. Above all, blue has evolved to a be a sophisticated color, nevetheless still maintained its composure throughout the years.
